About the August 7th Virtual Pink Tea Conversation:
SALLY ARMSTRONG, O.C.
Courage is another name for Sally Armstrong. This award-winning author, journalist and human rights activist has reported and written about the struggles and triumphs of women in war and conflict areas such as Bosnia, Afghanistan, Rwanda, Israel, Jordan and other hot spots.
Sally grew up in Montreal and in 1966, she achieved a Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University. From 1975 to 1988, she worked for Canadian Living magazine and then from 1988 to 1999, she was editor-in-chief of Homemakers magazine. Maclean’s Magazine came calling and Sally became their contributing editor from 2001 to 2010. At the same time, Sally was completing a Master of Science degree from the University of Toronto.
Her remarkable five books are best-sellers. Her current book, Power Shift: The Longest Revolution, illustrates why now is the best time to be a woman and how women are going to save civilization. Sally’s extraordinary bravery and leadership has been recognized with four Amnesty International Canada Media awards, 10 honourary degrees and appointment as an Officer of the Order of Canada.

While Pink Teas were used to gather women together to strategize how best to gain the vote and right to run for elected office, our Pink Teas will feature a variety of female leaders so we learn about various issues and opportunities. Hopefully, we will be inspired and work together to realize our dreams – or perhaps your dream.

About the Enbridge Famous 5 Speaker Series
This series profiled extraordinarily successful women who spoke candidly about their careers, and the passion, vision and determination that drives them. The speakers discussed our place in society and the ethical responsibilities and consequences of our actions. In relating their lives, guests heard about challenges as well as triumphs, humorous incidents and stories of loss, humbling moments of reflection and inspiring calls to action. The Famous 5 Foundation’s Leadership Lunches launched on Oct. 18, 1996. In 2004, Enbridge became our title sponsor and we are very grateful for their on-going support!
